PlayStation 3 Now $249 – $299

Sony slashes the price of both the 160 and 320 GB models.

That’s right budget-conscious gamers, the 160 GB PS3 is now just $249, and the 320 GB model has dropped to $299. Sony made the announcement today at Gamescom 2011 and after blogging about how great they their own console is for a few paragraphs, SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton made mention of the move on the PlayStation Blog.

Tretton didn’t stop there, though. The executive also announced that a limited edition inFAMOUS 2 PS3 bundle is available right now at participating retailers. (No specific stores were mentioned.) For $299 buyers get a 320 GB PlayStation 3, a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus. Not too shabby, Sony.
