Lots of Overwatch League news this week as the league undergoes its first week of completely online play. We begin with a quick recap of the biggest news stories from around the league. We give our brief thoughts on the San Francisco Shock Doomfist skin, and discuss the movement of several OWL teams to temporary setups in South Korea. We discuss the need for the decision in the midst of the current global pandemic, and discuss the benefits these teams can earn by setting temporary headquarters in familiar territory. We also give our brief thoughts on the recent allegations levelled towards Mouffin of the Boston Uprising, and discuss what needs to change from Uprising management.
Next, we recap all 10 of this week’s games including final scores, player performances and more. We give our thoughts on each team’s performance, as well as the long awaited debut of the the League’s Chinese teams. We go on to discuss the primary metas and team compositions we got to see this week, and award our player of the week honors to Marvel of the Seoul Dynasty.
Lastly, we give our thoughts on the upcoming Week 9 hero pool, and speculate on what heroes and compositions we could see in this week’s games. We also discuss some recent rumors regarding major trades and player moves, and discuss the potential reasons behind the rumored decisions.
