BlizzCon: Diablo III CG Trailer

Blizzard blackens the very stones of our souls with this latest trailer. What? Souls totally have stones.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

BlizzCon 2011 is underway and, wouldn’t you know it, a new Diablo III trailer has emerged from the celebration of all things Blizzard. The CG footage is surprisingly cheery and is filled with sunshine and rainbows.

No, it’s not actually like that at all. After the character Leah reads from some old tomes, the armies of darkness march forth from a smoldering volcano jutting into the dark, ominous skies above, and promises of death and destruction are made. It’s so gorgeous that I suspect most Blizzard fans will completely forget about the fact that the actual game looks nothing at all like this.

Diablo III is still set for a release sometime in early 2012, but it’s entirely possible that a release date announcement will be made before the weekend is out. Stay tuned to MTB.
