Playstation Suite Opens for Sony Tablet S

Android devices, start your engines...

Above: Some of the currently available games

If you own a Sony Tablet S, then today is your lucky day. Sony opened the PlayStation Suite — the PlayStation Store for Android-based PlayStation certified devices — in nine countries yesterday, including Canada and the US. At this time the game selection on the store consists of 10 PSone titles, which are going for $5.99 a piece:

  • Cool Boarders
  • Destruction Derby
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Jet Moto 2
  • Jumping Flash!
  • MediEvil
  • Motor Toon Grand Prix
  • Rally Cross
  • Wild Arms

Sony has stated that they are working with developers to expand the variety of titles and content available for PlayStation certified devices.

It remains unclear how compatible PlayStation Store accounts are with the Suite, and if gamers who already own any of the aforementioned games will have to pay for them again to use them on their tablets. We’ll update this post if we receive any additional information on the matter, but my gut is telling me that gamers will have to pay the piper twice.

The Sony Tablet S is available with a 16 GB capacity for $499.99, and with 32 GB for $599.99. The Sony Tablet P (the foldable touch screen version) is coming soon.
