More Episodes
It's been a while, but Jaa is running this show solo. He talks about the even we've all been waiting for: Storm Rising! He also discusses some things Jeff Kaplan talked about on stream, and what we can expect in the coming months, as well as more talk on game sense and reading a play before it happens.
Storm Rising revealed, why 2-2-2 locked comp won't fix Overwatch, picking characters in low tiers, and more.
More PTR changes are on the way and toxicity is down! We dig into that, why pro's shoot Zarya bubbles, and what a 2-2-2 role queue might play like with our special guest Ramses. We also have a special announcement!
Even the Overwatch team can't decide how to pronounce Baptiste. As of this recording, it's officially pronounced with the P. We discuss the dev Q&A that brought forth that revelation, PTR updates, carry fatigue, and more.
Along with Baptiste we see a lot of buffs incoming that will pump damage through the roof. Is this because the Overwatch team is trying kill GOATS? Or is it because Blizzard is trying to woo players back with more efficient (and fun) DPS play?
This episode focuses our recent community feedback. We'll discuss new hero ideas, six stacking, using stat's properly, Baptiste synergies, and more.
Big show this week as Hero 30 has been revealed: Baptiste! In addition to our new support character there are a TON of updates to current characters on the PTR. We discuss this and what we see in the future of Overwatch on this episode.
Shows late, Jaa's sick, Kinder is MIA, and not much going on in Overwatch this week. That's ok, though. We still have a show to do! We discuss climbing your rank by playing your rank, personal gains vs SR gains, and what role SR would look like.
Two surprises from the devs this week! We got a new Ana challenge that came with a short story, and we got some incoming balance changes via PTR. We also discuss if CTF didn't get a fair shake and more.
First episode of 2019, but we're giving Kinder and Ben a chance to give their thoughts on 2018. We also dig into why playing online can't be fair, and discuss hero bans in competitive.
This is the final WPR for 2018, and we end it by talking about this year in Overwatch. Once we look back, we realize the game didn't have many feature changes, but new characters and balance changes affected it in a big way.
https://soundcloud.com/mashthosebuttons/watchpoint-radio-138-watchers-brawl-w-refused-from-the-watchers-community
Winter Wonderland is here, and with it arrives major nerfs for Brigitte and Doomfist, and Bastion got some unneeded buffs. We also dig into the #ReworkMercy movement and talk about the key to bringing Mercy back (spoiler alert: it's not increased healing).
Little news to discuss, but luckily (for us) Kinder dipped back into gold this week and did an analysis of the biggest issues he sees in that rank. Additionally, we discuss if being good at your character is enough to climb SR on it's own.
Ashe is live in comp and the B.o.B. meta has arrived! Well... maybe. We discuss that, Hammond's low pick rate, a new idea for a competitive mode, and break down Fuey's defense of one-tricks.
This week (like every week) we discuss the state of Overwatch, which became a huge topic last week since a few ex-professional players are finally seeing what it's like to be a regular Overwatch player. Instead of just talking problems, we discuss solutions as well.
This is episode is the final episode for our friend BlazzinBob. But as one Bob leaves, another B.o.B. joins the fray. Ashe is now live, as well as character balance, and there are some upcoming updates as well.
Blizzcon has come and gone, and with little news on the future of Overwatch. We discuss the latest cinematic, the newest character Ashe, and some other tidbits of information we learned from Blizzcon.
This recording is to inform the community that there won't be a new WPR this week. Instead we will be releasing one of our community episodes in it's place. See you next week!
Mercy isn't in the strongest place right now, but that doesn't mean she needs buffs. We discuss what could help Mercy be more useful in the current game. We also discuss whether Bastion needs to be reworked, if you should listen to one-tricks for balance, and more.
Halloween Terror 2018 has landed with no surprises, even though the community appears to be surprised that there is no surprises. Also, expected character balance dropped with a surprise Doomfist nerf. Additionally, we talk about the best way to handle the current meta and competitive mode.
We quickly cover the little we know about Halloween Terror and then pick up where we left off last week, talking about how to "fix" Overwatch, as well as address lingering problems for color blind players, and talking about maining heroes in Season 12.
The long awaited Torbjorn rework changes are here!... Almost. The new Torb is on the PTR along with another round of character balance. Additionaly, we dive into the Pursuit and Visor bans put in place by the Overwatch team.
Last week Patch 1.28 got damage and abilities working as intended for many characters, just in time for the community to discover some new Brigitte tech that's definitely not working as intended. We discuss that, and two console specific issues: aim assist and group comms.
We pick up this week where we left off last week: how Hammond has effected Overwatch competitive play. We also dive into McCree and where he is right now, as well as discuss a little target priority 101.
Competitive Season 12 is here, but not much has changed. We discuss our placement experiences and the big differences we are noticing between higher and lower ELOs. We also discuss problem facing top tier players that are placing at the highest range of SR and also the new healer meta.
While Gold was never the pennacle of game play in Overwatch, over the past few seasons it has definitely been getting worse. In this episode we discuss what Blizzard can do directly to help improve play in lower tiers.
The show is a day late this week because we wanted to see what Blizzard had in store for Gamescom. As expected we got an Animated Short about D.Va as well as a new map. We also discuss Rienhardt fixes on the PTR, as well as game sense.
Last week we forgot to mention that Hammond was in comp, and this week we discuss the effects of that. Additionally, we talk about Bastion still being an F-tier hero but not getting any love from Blizzard (which we are ok with), and then discuss who should be doing the killing on the team.
Summer Games 2018 is just about here, but we knew that was coming. In this episode we discuss what skins we've seen so far, but more importantly, how much of a beast Hanzo is right now and what should be done. Additionally, we discuss OmnicMeta's 1.26 patch analysis.
In this weeks episode we finally get to some user feedback we've been trying to cover for weeks, and it's about Torbs rework. We talk about what we know and what we hope for. We also discuss character viability in Overwatch, and the OWL Finals.

Bob is out this week, but the show must go on. In this episode we discuss the impact of two recent changes: how LFG has impacted community interaction, as well as how Symmetra has impacted the competitive scene.
With not much in terms of news this week, we bring on Grand Master player Foo to discuss his thoughts on our newest heroes, LFG, and more.

The Year 2 Anniversary event has come to an end, but there is much to discuss. Symmetra's changes didn't play out as expected, patch 1.24 wasn't as effective as hoped, and Reinhardt is still having some major issues.
This week the team at WPR feels vindicated. A new developer update has arrived that is bringing some heavily requested social features that we've talked about for a while: LFG and Endorsements!
Jaa is back, but we are still experiencing some technical difficulties. Despite that, we discuss updated info on Symmetra's rework, winners and losers of the current meta, and more.
It doesn't feel like it, but we've been playing Overwatch for two years now! Jaa is out this episode, but Bob and Kinder talk about the Anniversary event as well as recent meta changes.
The Brigitte meta has brought some changes, but an unexpected change was the rise of Hanzo as a complete boss DPS. In this episode we go over Omnicmeta's Hanzo analysis, discuss Overwatch Year 2 Anniversary, and more.
Season 10 is in full effect, but with the exception of the meta, it doesn't feel like much has changed. We discuss that, PTR changes, and Omnic Meta Analysis on Brigitte.
